Antique shops, gift stores, greenhouses, artisans, diners and farm-gate fare lead the curious shopper on a cross-country treasure hunt. Visit the Old School Cheesery south of Vermilion for fresh artisan cheeses or The Cheesiry east of Kitscoty for a unique boutique offering Old World inspired artisanal sheep’s milk cheese as well as farm fresh flowers. Check out Open Farm Days annually in AUGUST where you can visit local farms or attend a culinary event.

Kathy’s Greenhouse offers fresh garden produce all summer long plus antiques and giftware (open year round on Hwy 897 & TWP 514), while Castle Gardens Greenhouse offers unique planters and an antique selection for all tastes. The new F'Laura N Company Greenhouse near Kitscoty (3/4 mile south of Hwy 16 on RR42)will also be a sweet treat.  In the Marwayne area you will find Prairie Stoneworks – home to unique stone giftware.

Plan a meeting, family reunion or a rural getaway at Red Feather Ridge, a modern facility with down-home warmth nestled in the natural beauty of rolling hills along the western boundary of the County. An Intimate Garden Bed & Breakfast offers peace and serenity in a quiet country setting on 80 acres laced with meandering trails in close proximity to the TransCanada Yellowhead route.  Hidden Lake Bed & Breakfast’s amenities include bed & breakfast, lakeside RV camping and trail rides too. The most recent addition is the Flintmere Bed & Breakfast, which can be found south on 897 (north of Paradise Valley).  If you are looking for a camping option, check out CampNRV just west of Blackfoot

You have many chances to get down and dirty! Celebrate at the annual Lea Park Pro Rodeo, Dewberry Chuckwagon Races, Paradise Valley Bull-a-Rama and “Hay” Clandonald. And who can resist the sounds of an old time jamboree - music flowing, feet tapping and friendly laughter at the Lea Park Jamboree! Got your boots on? Head to Graham Town for some trail rides.  In Paradise Valley you can Climb Thru Time at the restored grain elevator museum honoring the history of agriculture while the Dewberry Valley and Vermilion Heritage museums offer glimpses into the lives of our pioneer settlers.

Vermilion Provincial Park has plenty of RV camping plus miles of trails traversing the Vermilion River valley for both summer hiking and biking or winter cross country ski adventures.

Jubilee Regional Park welcomes you to camp out along the Ol’ Vermilion River at Lea Park, climb to the Snake Hill viewpoint or paddle or fish along the North Saskatchewan River.

Take a peaceful drive through the bountiful farmland and countryside to the
Lindsay A. Evans Park (South of Kitscoty on 897, West on TWP 490 for 3.5 miles and it is on your left).  A tranquil setting for bird watching, picnics and even some canoeing.  Open daily 7am-11pm from June 1 to after the Sept long weekend.  Alcohol not allowed.  The park is named for Lindsay A. Evans (1891-1976) - a renowned local artist and nature lover dedicated to enhancing his community.  Definitely a great little gem in our County!


McNabb Wildlife Sanctuary.  If you are looking for a nature spot, check out the McNabb Wildlife Sanctuary – bird watching, deer, wildlife and more!  A quiet retreat for connecting with nature. Located at SE-18-49-5-W4M (TWP 492 and RR 55; southeast of Vermilion).  Operated by the County of Vermilion River.

Marwayne Trestle Bridge.  This old bridge can be found near TWP 532 and 530 on RR 34 (northwest of Marwayne).

Our urban neighbours’ festivals and fairs are a welcoming sight all summer long beginning with Marwayne Rodeo Week in early June and ending with Clandonald Country Fair in mid-August, with the 3 Cities Fair, Lloydminster Colonial Days, Vermilion Fair, and Celebrate Kitscoty all squeezed in between. Enjoy the spectacular fireworks celebrating Canada Day together with the residents of the City of Lloydminster, Town of Vermilion or Village of Kitscoty.
