Nominations for the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta) (QPJM) - Garth Rowswell's Office
As you may know the province is to award 7000 medals to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The medal is to be awarded to those individuals deemed to have made a ‘significant contribution to Canada, Alberta or a particular Alberta Region or community’. MLAs have been designated as ‘Program Partners’. A Program Partner is an individual or organisation allocated a tranche of the 7000 medals. MLAs have been allocated 20 medals to award to their constituents.
Criteria for nominating an individual for a medal includes:
• Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in Canada.
• Living as of February 6, 2022.
• Demonstrated significant contributions to either Canada,
Alberta, a particular region of Alberta, community, or field of
• Provide significant volunteer service at the local level.
• Live in your local constituency.

Key within the nomination process is the need for confidentiality. Please do not inform the individual you are considering nominating of your intention. With just 20 medals available it is likely many deserving individuals will not be included in the final 20.
The deadline for nominations to my office is 30th September 2022.
