Work-Sharing is an adjustment program designed to help employers and employees avoid layoffs when there is a temporary reduction in the normal level of business activity that is beyond the control of the employer. The measure provides income support to employees eligible for Employment Insurance benefits who work a temporarily reduced work week while their employer recovers. Work-Sharing is a three-party agreement involving employers, employees and Service Canada. Employees on a Work-Sharing agreement must agree to a reduced schedule of work and to share the available work over a specified period of time. Canada Alberta Job Grant

Applications have been coming in since this program was launched with over $1 million approved. The top 5 most requested training (to date) are: 1. Project Management; 2. Computer Software Training, 3. Sales, 4. Leadership, 5. Accounting.  Make sure you use the most updated version 

of the application form found here on the website: Canada Alberta Job Grants   Top 5 application issues:  

1.Training has already started, 2. Not enough training hours requested – has to be 21 hours, 3. Training is not incremental (it would have been offered even without the Grant, 4. Missing or wrong Alberta Corporate Access Number, 5. Applications missing original signatures.  Here are the Top Application Processing Tips: 1. Please ensure your form is complete and has an original signature. 2. If you are requesting out of province training, please also submit a brief explanation as to why you are not able to use an Alberta Training Provider. 3. If you are requesting a certificate or diploma program, please list all the courses, not just the program title. 4. If you are not sure call the application advisors on the toll-free number: 1-855-638-9424  5.
