Water Conservation Tips

Kitchen - install a low-flow faucet aerator, which can cut water use in half.

Bathroom - shorten your shower by a minute or two and you'll save up to 150 gallons per month.  Use a water-efficient showerhead.  They're inexpensive, easy to install, and can save you up to 750 gallons per month.

Turn off the water while brushing your teeth and save 25 gallons per month.

How to Check for Household Water Leaks

Your water meter can be helpful to determine if you have a water leak. If the low flow indicator is moving and you are not using water, the usual suspect is a leaking toilet (the leak can be silent). Try turning the toilet valve off to verify. A $20 part will save you money.
We are more likely to notice leaks indoors, but don’t forget to check outdoor faucets, sprinklers and hoses!
