Encompassing the North Saskatchewan River Watershed in Northeast Central Alberta, the 20,000 square kilometre Kalyna Country Ecomuseum is a unique Natural & Heritage district. Extending east of Edmonton towards Lloydminster on the Saskatchewan border, it is a special parkland & prairie region with scenic, cultural, recreational and natural attractions. It is where the Aspen Parkland meets the Boreal Forest, amidst thousands of hectares of prime agricultural land, all within one of the most historic regions in Alberta! Living history, unique architecture, multi-cutural, eco & outdoor adventures and the energy of our friendly residents, all combine to make Kalyna Country an authentic one-of-a-kind experience for visitors of all ages.
Northeast Alberta Information HUB Ltd., also known as "The HUB", is a partnership of 35 communities in northeastern Alberta (the newest members are Kehewin Cree Nation and Whitefish Lake Band and their information will be added to the site shortly). The collection of information on this web site represents the on-going effort of these communities to enhance the quality of life and economic interests of this region by promoting the area through various initiatives.
Seven member municipalities; the County of Vermilion River, City of Lloydminster, Town of Vermilion, and the Villages of Dewberry / Kitscoty / Marwayne / Paradise Valley, in north-east Alberta began meeting regularly to inform and discuss with each other matters of common interest. In 2002, with the additional incentive of an Alberta Government Partnership Exploration Grant, these forward thinking municipalities formed the Vermilion River Regional Alliance (VRRA). In 2006 the Village of Mannville and Lakeland College accepted the invitation to also be members of the VRRA. The purpose of the Alliance is to provide a regional focus for activities in the area, generating projects and acting as a communication instrument for the member municipalities.
Yellowhead IT! Travel Magazine is an initiative of the Yellowhead Highway Association. Provincial, Community, and Business Partners in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia have merged their financial resources to create our Travel Magazine, map, and a media-buy campaign, with the aim of promoting rubber tire travel along the Yellowhead Highway Corridor. Developing the Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway to its ultimate potential by marketing its tourism and economic development potential is the main objective of the Yellowhead Highway Association. At Yellowhead IT! we are pleased to be an integral part of accomplishing this goal.
